Bellevoye Whisky & Flor de Selva Tasting Evening

A Night with Bellevoye Whisky & Flor de Selva Cigars

The air at Epiqurus The Lounge thrummed with the promise of transcontinental alchemy that night as Bellevoye Whisky and Flor de Selva Cigars collided in a tasting symphony that spanned French oak cellars to Central American tobacco fields.

Souls of the Evening:

Flor de Selva - Tempo Maduro by Maya Selva Cigars
A cigar that doesn’t just burn… it breathes. Crafted under the watchful eye of Honduran humidity and Maya Selva’s masterful touch, the Tempo Maduro unfurled its story like a slow-burning parchment.

“This is tobacco that grew restless in volcanic soil,” our host mused, tracing the cigar’s oily wrapper. “Maduro’s sweetness isn’t sugar… it’s patience. Five years of tropical sunrises locked in every leaf. The draw? Smooth as a jungle river. The finish? A whisper of cocoa and cedar, like secrets shared under a canopy.”

Bellevoye’s Trinity: A French Whisky Odyssey
The evening unveiled three distinct chapters of Bellevoye’s artistry, each bottle a universe unto itself:

Bellevoye Blanc
“The debutante of the trio,” as @enoteca_lb’s guide described it. Aged in Alsace oak, this whisky arrived like a spring breeze—silken, luminous, and disarmingly smooth. Notes of fresh pear and vanilla waltzed across palates, a delicate overture to the night.

Bellevoye Rouge
The crowd’s equilibrium. Matured in Burgundy casks, this amber gem balanced honeyed malt with a flicker of dried cherries. “This is where Scottish tradition meets French rebellion,” declared Bellevoye’s ambassador. “Not a note out of place… like a Bordeaux sunset bottled.”

Bellevoye Noir
The grand finale. Finished in Bordeaux barrels, this full-bodied titan stormed the senses with dark chocolate depths, smoked oak, and a whisper of blackcurrant. “For those who like their whisky to wear leather jackets,” laughed a guest, savoring its lingering tobacco-spice crescendo.

Special Thanks

With gratitude to @enoteca_lb for spirits that speak in sonnets, @peter_cigar for turning smoke into poetry, and @bellevoye_whisky for rewriting whisky’s rules.

To the guests… consider this your baptism in French malt’s holy trinity.
